Suit filed against Orleans sheriff over prison conditions: NEW ORLEANS – The Southern Poverty Law Center has filed a federal class action lawsuit against Orleans Parish Sheriff Marlin Gusman charging the sheriff with indifference to “brutal and inhumane” conditions inside Orleans Parish Prison.
